Jairo is a fully qualified Colombian lawyer and has a master’s degree in Insurance and Reinsurance law by Pontificia Universidad Javeriana (Bogotá, Colombia). He has over 30 years’ experience writing Surety bonds (performance bonds, advance payment bonds, concessions bonds, permit & license bonds, maintenance bonds, quality bonds etc) in the Latin American and Caribbean market with high profitability results. He has published several books and articles on the topic and he has been a regular speaker in the Pan-American Surety Association (PASA) conferences. Over his professional career he has been the lead surety underwriter for several Insurance Companies (Confianza Seguros-today Swiss Re-, Seguros Colombia) and Reinsurers both as an employee (Folks America) or though binding authorities under his own MGA (Ironshore, Lloyd’s of London, Torus, Barents Re, etc).

Mario holds a degree in Financial Management from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) with studies at the Haaga Helia University of Applied Sciences in Helsinki, Finland, has an MBA and postgraduate studies in Private Equity and Banking & Financial Law from the Universidad Iberoamericana, the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de Mexico (ITAM) and the Instituto Empresa in Madrid, Spain. He has more than 12 years of experience in Financial Lines, both in the Underwriting and retail/reinsurance brokerage sides of Directors & Officers, Professional Indemnity, Financial Institutions, Cyber, SPPI and other FL coverages. He has participated as speaker in various seminars, conferences and events in the financial, business and insurance sectors in Mexico and Latin America, including the Lloyd´s Academy LATAM forum as well as collaborations in radio programs and written media. In recent years he has specialized in regional risk underwriting in various companies from AIG and Zurich to Newline Syndicate and currently Lions Gate UW.

Guiomar holds a degree in Economic Science from the Instituto Politécnico Nacional (Mexico). With more than 10 years of experience in the financial/insurance sector, both in client services and finance management at Zurich Insurance Company Mexico & LATAM operations and in the banking sector with BBVA. Within the insurance industry, he applies his expertise in control, operations and financial processes, as well as direct daily liaising with brokers in respect of Financial Lines and Surety business. Guiomar is an expert in general operational processes, compliance, efficiency control metrics, budgets, and analysis of specifics cases. Within the team he is focused on providing effective and flawless service to customers (internal and external), ceding companies and brokers.
